Kate is a native Nashvillian that came to the Chattanooga area to go to college in 1997. From the beginning of her college career, Kate knew she wanted to be a nurse practitioner. Kate completed her registered nurse and associate degree of nursing in 1999, from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale Tennessee. She began working at Parkridge Hospital on the cardiac step down unit, but quickly realized the emergency department would be her true love. Later in 1999, Kate transferred to Memorial North Park emergency department and stayed in this department as she worked on her bachelors degree of nursing and finally her masters degree of nursing. Kate graduated from Southern Adventist University with her masters degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner in 2007. She began her nurse practitioner career in gastroenterology and hepatology, where she stayed for several years. The desire to care for a more varied patient population led Kate to realize family practice would be the perfect place to practice for her. Kate is married with two very energetic sons. They enjoy traveling, camping, and exploring the Chattanooga area's many hiking trails and waterfalls. Kate is an aspiring knitter and amateur photographer, and enjoys all things scrap-booking and paper crafting.
